Privacy policy
This site belongs to Abhilash Hazarika, a freelance developer building websites, AI automations and custom software. This page explains what the site collects, why, who handles it, and the choices you have.
What I collect
- What you type into the contact form: your name, email, and, if you choose to give them, your phone number, best times to call, business name, budget, what you need help with, and your message.
- Sent automatically with the form: your time zone, your IP address, your browser type, the time you sent it, and, if you arrived from an ad or another site, the ad's link tags and that site's address.
- Only if you accept cookies: Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and TikTok cookies that tell me which ads bring visitors and enquiries. I receive totals and ad reports, not your form contents.
Why
- To reply to your enquiry, book a call, and prepare a quote.
- To keep spam and bots out of the contact form.
- With your consent only, to measure which ads work.
I don't sell your information, and I don't add you to a mailing list.
Who handles it
- Vercel (USA) hosts the site and stores enquiries privately.
- Resend (USA) delivers the emails: my notification and your confirmation.
- Cloudflare Turnstile checks that the form is sent by a person. It runs on every visit to the page with the form and sees your IP address and browser details; it is a security measure, not advertising.
- Meta and TikTok, only after you press Accept.
- On The Listening Room, the radio station you pick streams straight to your browser from its own servers, and searches go to Radio Browser, a free, open station directory. To show the song and artist, your browser also asks the station's own now-playing service (for example StreamTheWorld, SomaFM, KEXP or ABC). On your first visit, and if you press "Near me" in Places, your browser asks for your location; if you allow it, it's rounded to about 1 km and sent only to Radio Browser to find a station near you (say no and you get a random English-language station instead). Like any website you load, they see your IP address. To show how many people are listening, each open player sends an anonymous check-in every 90 seconds to my Cloudflare server: a random id made fresh each visit and the station playing. It's held in memory for about 3 minutes only; no IP address, cookie or history is kept. I don't record what you listen to.
- Your weather (The Listening Room), only if you choose it and agree: your browser asks for your location, which is rounded to about 1 km and sent only to Open-Meteo (Switzerland), a free weather service, to get your current weather. Or you can type a city instead. Your location never reaches me, and you can forget it in the same window at any time.
These services may store data outside your country, including in the United States.
Cookies and storage
- Your cookie choice is saved in your browser so you aren't asked on every visit.
- The ad link tags you arrived with are kept for your browser tab's session, so your enquiry is credited to the right ad.
- Meta and TikTok cookies are set only after you accept them.
- The Listening Room remembers your last record, scene, theme, volume and graphics setting in your browser, so it's ready next time, and, if you chose Your weather, your rounded location or city. Nothing is sent to me.
AI demos (ai.ahazarika.com)
The AI demos ask you to accept this policy before you use them. If you don't, nothing below happens.
- What you type or upload (questions, documents, reviews, website addresses, chat messages) is sent to Anthropic (USA), whose Claude model writes the answer. Anthropic doesn't use it to train its models. Please don't enter real personal or confidential details.
- One cookie,
aip_sid, holds an anonymous session id for 30 days. It keeps your demo session together and applies fair-use limits. With it I store a scrambled (salted and hashed) form of your IP address, never the address itself. - Usage records: for each AI answer I record the demo, the time, the number of words processed (tokens), the cost and how long it took, against the anonymous session id. I use these to keep the demos within budget and to see which ones people try.
- Limits: a few AI answers a minute and a daily allowance per session and per network, so the demos stay available for everyone.
- Cloudflare Turnstile checks you're a person, once a day, after you accept.
- Deleted after 24 hours: uploaded documents and demo bookings (including any name and phone number you give the receptionist demo). Receptionist chats are kept in memory for 2 hours, then dropped.
- Deleted after 30 days: the session and its scrambled IP address. Usage records then stay only as anonymous totals.
Your choices
- Cookies: change your cookie choice at any time. Rejecting has no effect on what the site does for you.
- Global Privacy Control: if your browser sends this signal, I treat it as rejecting ad cookies.
- Do not sell or share: I never sell personal information. Sharing with Meta and TikTok for ads happens only with your consent, and rejecting cookies stops it.
- Your information: you can ask to see, correct or delete what I hold about you, or withdraw consent. Email hello@ahazarika.com, use the contact form, or reply to any email from me, and I'll respond within 30 days.
How long I keep it
Enquiries are kept for up to 24 months after our last contact, then deleted. If you become a client, project and billing records are kept as long as Canadian tax law requires.
Children
This site is for businesses and isn't aimed at children. Please don't send information about anyone under 16.
Changes
If this policy changes, the effective date above will change, and if new trackers are added you'll be asked for your cookie choice again.
