From the people who live in them
Sample reviews written for this concept site
“They talked us out of the expensive stone wall and into a planted slope that looks better and cost half. That's when we knew we'd picked the right people.”
“Proposal was exactly the final bill. Crew left the street cleaner than they found it.”
“Two summers in, and we've had goldfinches every morning on the coneflowers.”
We work across Brookhaven, Northgate, Westfield, Cedar Grove, Lakeview, Fairview, Eastbrook and Southport. Most projects are within 30 minutes of our yard on Gainsborough Road.

Good questions to ask a landscaper
How much does a typical Fernwood project cost?
Most backyard projects land between $15,000 and $60,000. Planting-only refreshes start around $3,000. We'll give you a realistic range at the site visit, before any design fee.
Why pay for design instead of a free quote?
A free quote prices a guess. Our design gives you a measured plan, plant list and fixed price you can compare. And the $650 is credited back if we build it.
Will plants survive our clay soil?
That's why we test it. We amend beds where needed and choose plants that like Brookhaven's heavy clay and -25°C winters. If one fails in the first two years, we replace it.
When should I book?
Designs for spring builds fill by February. Fall is the best time to plant, and visits in winter are easy to schedule since we can still see the bones of the yard.
Do you handle permits and locates?
Yes. We request utility locates for every dig and handle City of Brookhaven permits for walls over 1 metre and any work near trees protected by the bylaw.
